Meet the CAF jury, who will decide which of the films in competition will receive CAF 2020's Best Short Film & Best Student Film awards.
Yvonne Connikie is a programmer and curator specialising in Black Independent Film. Yvonne was the founder of the Black Film Festival Wales and a Founder Member and Chair of the New Black Film Collective and Assistant Curator for Black London Film Heritage.
Yvonne has recently completed a tour of Black Britain On Film with the Independent Cinema Office and continues to work as a Curator/Project Manager for Charlie Phillips Photography.
Yvonne is a PhD candidate at the University of South Wales exploring the Leisure Activities of the Windrush Caribbeans in Butetown Cardiff.
Beth is a 2D Animator and Director with 10 years experience in the industry. Beth studied Animation at the University of Glamorgan in 2010, and has worked on several children's series for Cbeebies, Milkshake, Netflix, Sky and S4C. Beth is currently Series Directing the second season of Luo Bao Bei for Cloth Cat Animation. In between animation, Beth also creates horror illustrations and has attended several conventions. With her partner she also created and released a board game, with many more in production.
Daisy Gould is Head of Marketing at Iris Prize LGBT+ Film Festival in Cardiff. She has worked with the festival since 2016, starting as a placement whilst studying for her masters degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Daisy’s role now encompasses everything from designing print, editing trailers and programming films, to running the festival’s social media and plenty in between.
Daisy also studied animation at University of Wales, Newport and has since worked on a variety of animation projects. Her short films have won awards, been screened at festivals around the world and featured on websites including Motionographer and Cartoon Brew.
