ANNIKA BLUHM
Creative Executive, DreamWorks TV
Annika trained as an actor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama before moving over into working as a literary agent. Realising it was more fun talking about scripts than contracts, she started her TV career as the script editor for BBC Education, working on everything from preschool puppet series to the Bafta award-winning teen series SCENE to Faye Weldon’s adaptation of Jane Eyre.
Moving to the indie sector, she has creatively led a wide range of shows, both animated and live action, including Tinga Tinga Tales, Basil Brush, Rupert Bear and Raa Raa the Noisy Lion. She was the long term series producer and head writer on six seasons of Postman Pat. Joining Dreamworks Animation in 2012, she developed and served as Creative Exec on S1 of Noddy Toyland Detective and is EP on S2.
Current projects include developing and launching a new unannounced preschool show for a major SVOD supplier as well as developing a raft of other preschool and older age properties. Annika regularly presents sessions to aspiring writers, animators and producers at AUB and Animation Encounters and has also presented at the Annecy Animation Festival. She is a member of Animated Women UK and Bafta.
