Since studying for an M.Mus in composition under the guidance of composer Alun Hoddinott CBE, and an early career sessioning & arranging for Dave Stewart’s Anxious Records in London, John has enjoyed a long and successful career as a composer of music for concert platform, theatre, television and film. He has also pursued his interests in immersive sound installation, experimenting and presenting work combining musical narrative with ‘found’ sound, electronics, and field recordings. Recent projects include a score for the forthcoming feature documentary My Grandfather The Spy, directed by David Evans; and Atgyfodi: a site- specific installation and performance work in collaboration with The National Museum of History: St Fagans, Ffotogallery, and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
