Background: 

The desire for Africans to tell their own African stories through animation was the starting point for Johannesburg-based director and animator, Kearatwa "KK" Sedidi, whom, co-created Dipopaai, a Johannesburg based animation studio with Sithembiso Mpehle. Started out in the good old days when animators drew with pen on paper. The studio morphed over the years into one that produces quality animated videos popular throughout the Country.

 

Kearatwa, has lead a number of projects from children's content such as the ever pervasive Wazi's Wonderful world which airs on one of South Africa's major broadcasters to lecturing and breeding new talent in the industry at media colleges around Gauteng. KK sees animation as a breeding ground for exceptional geniuses in the ever progressive world of digitization.
