
SIONED WYN ROBERTS
Sioned is responsible for all children's content on S4C's pre-school brand Cyw and Stwnsh for older children. She is also responsible for Young People, Learning and Welsh learners' content. Since joining S4C in 2012, Sioned has commissioned several innovative formats: Y Lifft was the first play along gameshow for kids in the UK, followed by Ludus and Pyramid; Madroncombined animation and a digital comic app; Dwylo'r Enfys, a series introducing Makaton in Welsh; @tifiacyw twitter service for parents learning Welsh; #Fi award-winning documentary strand; multi-platform series Llond Ceg tackles kids' issues head-on; and Dyma Fi a digital youth project with crowd-sourced content, was shot over a 24-hour period.
Sioned is a programme-maker with 25 years' experience. She worked at the BBC from 1990-2006 producing and directing radio, television and interactive content. She directed several episodes of All Our Lives, a landmark history series for BBC Wales and documentary series O Flaen Dy Lygaid. As a Senior Producer 2001-06, she led the award-winning multiplatform projects Come Clean, B*ll*cks, and pan-Celtic language learning project Colin and Cumberland. In 2006, Sioned joined the independent sector and produced, developed and exec produced a host of shows such as CBBC's Stuck on Sheep Mountain and CBeebies' Alphablocks. In 2012 Sioned was a member of the group reporting on Digital Materials in Education for the Welsh Government that led to setting up the Hwb digital learning platform.
